Canyon Dave’s full day and half day tours are the same wherever we pick you up. That said, we have an interesting drive to the Grand Canyon from Flagstaff. You will see the gorgeous volcanoes of Northern Arizona: snow-blanketed except in summer. We will glide past forests and grasslands and we might see pronghorn antelope and raptorial birds. There is an optional pit stop on your command.
In Flagstaff and nearby, we will gather you between 7:45 and 8:00am right at your lodging: hotel, vacation rental, or campsite. You will be surprised to find yourself in a ponderosa pine forest–yes, in Arizona, the land of saguaro cactus and sand. But we are at 7,000 feet altitude, where the weather is cool in summer and cold in winter. Bring your appropriate jacket or coat!
By the time we arrive at the much-anticipated Grand Canyon National Park, you will be conversant in Northern Arizona botany, wildlife, and geology…at least compared to your neighbors back home.
So sit back and enjoy the views and the conversation with your congenial guide and fellow passengers. It’s about one and a half hours to the Grand Canyon.
